From Bollywood to 90 Countries: The Inspiring Journey of Dharmendra’s Daughter-in-Law Deepti Bhatnagar
Dharmendra’s daughter-in-law Deepti Bhatnagar has carved her own path. For the last few days, the Deol family was in the news following a health scare for Bollywood legend Dharmendra, while fans sent their prayers and wishes. It’s a reminder of the incredible legacy this family has built in Indian cinema. Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Isha Deol, Abhay Deol, and Dharmendra himself. There is a lesser-known member whose story takes a completely different path, that of Deepti Bhatnagar.
Unlike the family of film stars, Deepti stepped away from acting to pursue her passion for travelling. Born in Meerut, Deepti moved to Mumbai to start a handicraft business, but destiny had other plans. She was offered modelling work in a Beauty pageant at just 18. She bought a home in Juhu within a year. She made her acting debut in Ram Shastra in 1995 and went on to act in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi films.
Deepti made her Hollywood debut in Inferno, which also marked Madonna’s first film. She starred as a cop in the TV show Yeh Hai Raaz. Shah Rukh Khan trained her for Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa but she ran away from the screen test. After a commercial with Sunny Deol she was asked to meet Dharmendra, but was too scared at that time. She later married Randeep Arya, Dharmendra’s nephew. They now have two sons, Shubh and Shiv. Deepti found her true calling in travelling. She launched her production company and created shows like Yatra and Musafir Hoon Yaaron, visiting over 90 countries. Deepti has 190 K YouTube subscribers, and she continues to inspire millions.
