Border 2 Teaser Review: Sunny Deol’s Roar Returns After 28 Years, But Does the Emotion Match the Scale?
Border 2 is a sequel to the 1997 classic Border and is reportedly based on the events of the 1999 Kargil War. The actors in this film are Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Diljit Dosanjh. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on January 23, 2026. Anurag Singh directs it. The Border 2 teaser has been released.
Border 2 is the biggest sequel film of 2026, which took 28 years to come. The Border 2 teaser is 125 seconds long. Just the roaring voice of Sunny Deol is enough to remind us of the first Border film. It will be totally Sunny Deol’s film.
Some people might say that such kind of films should have been made 30 years ago. However, the film is a critic-proof film where people care less about how the film is. In the teaser, everything looks a bit artificial. The real patriotic factor is somewhat missing in the film. From the teaser of Border 2 one can make out that the focus is on technology rather than on emotions. One can clearly make out the overuse of VFX in the film.
The role of other actors in Border 2, apart from Sunny Deol, is not visible in the teaser. When they enter the scene, they fail to convey the presence of a soldier. It would have been a delight if the old actors of the Border movie appeared in Border 2. Especially if Akshaye Khanna appears in his old role, the theatres would be filled.
This time, the enemy is being challenged from everywhere – Earth, sky, air, and water. The true heroes of the country are being remembered. The film is not able to do justice to itself visually. Sunny Deol’s earth-shattering roar and one devastating dialogue are enough to shake Pakistan
Overall, Border 2 rediscovers the real story India – Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, whose bravery still echoes across Srinagar’s skies. In the movie, Sunny Deol, along with Varun Dhawan, liberates a key district of the East Punjab sector, which broke the backbone of the Pakistan army. Sunny Deol makes the most challenging Pakistani army brigadier surrender.
