AVM Saravanan: The Cinematic Titan Who Shaped Tamil Cinema Forever

AVM Saravanan, who was a famous producer in the Tamil film industry, has passed away. He gave many successful films to the Tamil film industry and worked with well-known directors. Fans expressed their condolences. His body was kept on the third floor of the AVM shooting hall. Chief Minister MK Stalin paid respect to his body. He left the entire Tamil film industry in deep sorrow. He was an iconic producer whose legacy will live on through his films forever.
Tamil film celebrities, technicians, and close well-wishers paid their last respects to AVM Saravanan and shared their emotional memories about him.
AVM Saravanan took his last breath this morning at his residence in North Chennai due to ill health. Actor Rajinikanth said that he was a man who came to the cinema and loved it. He said that AVM Saravanan was very kind to him and has always been his support in difficult times. He added that he came to AVM and acted in nine films. He said his death has left him very sad and heartbroken.
Saravanan took over AVM Productions from his father in 1946 and then produced hit movies like Rajinikanth’s Sivaji, Suriya’s Ayan, and family classics such as Samsaram Adhu Minsaram. He was humble and down to earth when he mentored young filmmakers. He earned deep respect from stars like Vishal and industry voices who called him a titan. On December 4, 2025 Rajinikanth, Suriya, and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin joined fans at AVM Studios in Vadapalani to pay homage before his funeral.
