Satire or Insult? Kunal Kamra Controversy Over T-shirt Featuring ‘RSS/PSS’ Logo Triggers Heated Debate
Kunal Kamra made fun of RSS by wearing a T-shirt with an objectionable photo of RSS printed on it with a picture of dog. This landed him in a controversy again. Kunal Kamra posted his picture in which he wore this t-shirt on social media platforms like Twitter (X). The government of Maharashtra is planning to take a legal action against Kamra.
Kunal Kamra believes in freedom of expression. But his joke on RSS through his T-shirt has invited legal action from RSS. Kunal has always been in controversies in the past. The T-shirt design shows a dog that some interpret as urinating on ‘RSS’ letters, though others insist it reads ‘PSS’ due to Kamra’s arm covering part of it. BJP leaders in Maharashtra, including state president Chandrashekhar Bawankule and Ram Kadam, condemned the image as provocative and called for police action.
Supporters like Dhruv Rathee defended it as satire, while Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Shirsat referenced past clashes with Kamra over his comments on leaders like Eknath Shinde. No formal complaint has been filed yet, amid ongoing debates over satire and political. BJP has got irate and warned Kunal. The picture is in limelight. It was seen that Kunal was trying to make fun of Sangh. However, it should be noted that the full ‘R’ is not visible in the image, and the letters on Kamra’s T-shirt could just as easily read ‘PSS’. Party leaders have demanded police action, with Maharashtra BJP’s Ram Kadam saying strict steps will be taken against such posts.
