Aditya Dhar on Dhurandhar: Crafting an Unprecedented Spy Epic

The film Dhurandhar which is a spy action thriller film, and it is directed by Aditya Dhar. The star cast in this film includes Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan and Arjun Rampal, alongside Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi in supporting roles. The film is scheduled to release on December, 2025.

Aditya Dhar told in an interview that it was an amazing experience, shaping up really well. He said he has tried to create something that has not been seen in the Indian cinema before. Director Aditya Dhar opens up about the intense shooting schedule of Dhurandhar, revealing that the entire cast worked 16–18 hours non-stop without a single complaint. He praised the actors’ intent, dedication, and discipline, saying that their hard work is the reason the film looks so powerful on screen.

Aditya said that there was a gap of 5 years during which he hadn’t made a film, and when he started writing, he somehow started casting and got hold of people who were there to prove themselves. In Dhurandhar, there is a dialogue that says, “I am injured, so I am fatal.” He also expressed that each actor has performed brilliantly and extraordinarily. Everybody has put their heart and soul into the film. He said that this was the project with absolute pure intent. He said that they have worked for 16 to 18 hours for one and a half years.

Overall, the story of Dhurandhar film is inspired by real-life covert operations and the Lyari gang wars in Pakistan. The trailer of the film is four minutes and eight seconds long. Arjun Rampal plays the role of Major Iqbal, R. Madhavan as Indian spymaster Sanyal, Akshaye Khanna as Rehman Dakait, Sanjay Dutt joins as SP Chaudhary Aslam, and Ranveer Singh enters later as Hamza.
